Row 2 (WS): *Purl 1, knit 1; repeat to last stitch, end p 1.

About 1x1 Ribbing for Mount Merritt: Plain 1x1 ribbing, but guaranteed to be a multiple of 4 stitches plus 1, for use in the Mount Merritt design.
