Swiss Check

(multiple of 4 sts plus 1; two colors)

Row 1 (RS, with CC): Knit 1, sl 1 wyib, (k 1, sl 3 wyib) to final 3 sts, k 1, sl 1, k 1.

Row 2 (WS, with CC): Purl 1, (p 3, sl 1 wyif) to final 4 sts, p 4.

Row 3 (RS, with MC): Knit 2, (sl 1 wyib, k 3) to final 3 sts, sl 1 wyib, k 2.

Row 4 (WS, with MC): Purl.

Row 5 (RS, with CC): Knit 1, (sl 3 wyib, k 1) to end.

Row 6 (WS, with CC): Purl 2, (sl 1 wyif, p 3) to final 3 sts, sl 1 wyif, p 2.

Row 7 (RS, with MC): Knit 4, (sl 1 wyib, k 3) to final st, k 1.

Row 8 (WS, with MC): Purl.

Repeat Rows 1 - 8 for pattern. When slipping 3, float the yarn behind 3 slipped stitches very loosely. (This is a good thing to swatch!)
